My Little Big Town kids book reviews and giveaway

My children were very pleased when I opened the package we received for free from My Little Big Town and saw the three books inside. This was really fast dispatch. I received the package in less than 48hrs.

My Little Big Town is a children’s book publishing company, who create books that children WANT to read…. fun, silly, gross, exciting, magical books!

Son2 read Pirates Don’t Play Cricket to his older brother and me.  This was quite a challenging read for him, but he did very well, with some help on the trickier words. It has colourful pictures and is written in rhyme in speech bubbles.

Son1 read Stuart The Bug Eating Man to son2 and me.  This was an easy read for him, as although the book looks standard paperback size with 69 pages, it probably has less than 20 words per page. This is also written in rhyme and has a recommended reading age of 7+.  Son1 initially thought Stuart’s wife was a dog, as the first page mentions Stuart’s wife Harriet but the accompanying illustration shows Stuart with a dog. So we really giggled when we reached page 16 and saw the first actual illustration of Harriet.  And son1 misinterpreted the role of a Pest Control Man as he thought everyone was eating bugs by the end of the story, so we discussed how a Pest Control Man was like when we had someone in to destroy a wasps’ nest.

Son1 also read Jenny to son2 and me.  The boys thought this book about werewolves was scary but still enjoyed it. Stuart the Bug Eating Man and Jenny are both in A Tiny Twisted Tale series and written in a similar style.

In summary the boys loved all three books and enjoyed creating video reviews.

You may purchase these books via My Little Big Town’s Amazon store.  They are currently selling Pirates Don’t Play Cricket for £2 and both the other books for £1.50 each.  That is amazing value in my opinion.

And I’m hosting a rafflecopter competition to giveaway a copy of Pirates Don’t Play Cricket courtesy of My Little Big Town to three lucky winners.

Thank you all for your comments, but if you were commenting for the rafflecopter giveaway, the comment requirement was to also include the Amazon link for your favourite. Some comments have only completed half the requirement
