Here is the book blurb.

Pete and the Persian Bottle is the story of nine-year-old Peter (Pete) Bartlett, an average boy from an average town, whose biggest wish is to stand out in the crowd. Just when he thinks his life couldn’t get any more boring, he finds a mysterious bottle and releases a long-trapped genie. Now his troubles have really started. “Pete and the Persian Bottle” is set in the fictional rural Australian town of Boney Ridge. The story runs across 12 chapters and is aimed at junior grade children (early readers), but may also be of interest to those in the middle grades. The story covers themes of confidence, friendship and cultural sensitivity.

Pete finds an old bottle in his neighbour’s skip whilst searching for parts to make his go-cart. He naturally thinks three wishes when he releases a genie, but things don’t go to plan when the angry genie turns Pete into a rat and then disappears out the window. Pete now needs help to turn back to himself whilst avoiding large dogs and cats. He has to convince his friends that he is Pete, not just a rat and then get them to help him find the genie.

Here is son1’s video review.

Pete and the Persian Bottle is available for pre-order on Amazon, currently priced at £6.89 in paperback or £2.77 on Kindle. Son1 loved this book, which at 100 pages, is also ideal for those children at early reader stage. It is written by Sarah Jackson and illustrated by Tegan Werts.
